The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited has halted the power supply to Gondia's new administrative building due to unsettled dues, creating widespread inconvenience for daily visitors, including staff from various departments.
Constructed at a steep cost of Rs 29 crore, this building is critical to district operations, housing the offices of agriculture, information, land registration, and charity departments. The disconnection left essential services like lifts and lights in washrooms non-functional.
Officials have cleared the outstanding electricity bill of Rs 90,000, and supply restoration is expected shortly, stated SDO Chandrabhan Khandait.
