In a bid to preserve the sanctity of religious spaces, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has backed measures to ban political activities within temple premises. This announcement came during a meeting with Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and officials regarding the development of the Goddess Saraswathi temple in Basara, Nirmal district.

Following the model of the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala Tirupati, Reddy emphasized the importance of maintaining temple sanctity by eliminating political engagements. As part of a 225 crore-rupee development plan, Reddy is set to lay the foundation stone on April 6, ensuring all work aligns with traditional 'shastras'.

Moreover, Reddy urged for the construction of wide roads to accommodate future pilgrim traffic and mandated the use of electric vehicles within temple grounds. This policy underscores a commitment to combining religious reverence with sustainable development.
