The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced forecasts for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning across Arunachal Pradesh, starting this Saturday. The alerts focus specifically on high-intensity rainfall in Tawang, West Kameng, Lower Subansiri, and Anjaw, which are the districts placed under high alert.
As rain activity continues into Sunday, with anticipated easing in intensity, the IMD urges residents and travelers to stay informed. Temporary disruptions in traffic, risk of waterlogging in low-lying areas, and minor landslides in hilly regions present concerns.
By early next week, the weather is expected to improve with significant warnings likely to be lifted. However, the weekend's heavy showers come with advisories for power and communication disruptions and potential crop damage, reminding individuals to steer clear of high-risk areas.
