In a significant development, Arunachal Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has expressed support for the Union Cabinet's recent decisions. The approval of the 8th Pay Commission's terms of reference and new fertiliser subsidies reflects a strong focus on supporting government employees and India's farming community.
Mein highlighted that the upcoming 8th Central Pay Commission would review the pay, allowances, and pensions of central government staff, projecting a positive impact on motivation and employee welfare. These adjustments are expected to be in effect by January 1, 2026, emphasizing the administration's commitment to its workforce.
On the agriculture front, the Cabinet's allotment of Rs 37,952 crore towards nutrient-based subsidy rates aims to stabilize fertiliser costs during the forthcoming Rabi season, ensuring farmers receive crucial supplies at consistent rates. This measure is seen as a crucial support for farmers, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, amidst volatile global market prices.
