Cyclone Montha made landfall near Antarvedi village in Andhra Pradesh, wreaking havoc across the coastal region. The storm, which caused two fatalities, destroyed 1.50 lakh acres of standing crops and led to significant power and transportation disruptions, despite prior precautionary measures taken by the government.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during an aerial survey, reported that 1.8 lakh people were moved to relief camps, as extensive damage was assessed across various districts, including Bapatla and Palnadu. Relief operations continued with food and financial aid distributed to affected families.
The National and State Disaster Response Forces launched restoration efforts, clearing debris and restoring services. Meanwhile, Telangana experienced heavy rainfall, prompting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to direct state agencies to remain alert amidst ongoing weather challenges and disrupted transportation networks.
