The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken decisive action to protect the green belts of Greater Noida, which it describes as the 'lungs of urban areas'.
The tribunal, chaired by Prakash Shrivastava, responded to a resident welfare association's petition highlighting encroachments threatening these vital spaces.
Emphasizing its commitment, the NGT instructed the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority to remove encroachments, repair, maintain, and secure the green belts to preserve public health and environmental balance.
