INS Sahyadri, a stealth frigate built indigenously by the Indian Navy, recently made a strategic port call at Sasebo, Japan, during its extended operational mission across the Indo-Pacific. This visit, reported by officials on Wednesday, is part of efforts to strengthen maritime ties in the region.

Upon its arrival at Sasebo on October 28, the vessel was cordially received by personnel from the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF), highlighting the camaraderie and cooperation in naval operations between India and Japan. This is the second Japanese port visit for the ship during its current deployment.

As part of the scheduled interactions, Captain Rajat Kumar, Commanding Officer of INS Sahyadri, engaged with Vice Admiral Fukuda Tatsuya, commandant of the Sasebo district. Their discussions centered around strategies to enhance collaboration and interoperability, further consolidating the robust relationship between the Indian Navy and JMSDF.
