A fatal car-truck collision disrupted the Lucknow-Varanasi highway, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old man, Azhar, and leaving his brother, Imtiaz, injured. The accident occurred in Amethi district on Tuesday night, police reported.
Azhar and Imtiaz, both from Harimau village, were driving their SUV when it collided with a truck near Kamrauli police station. Despite being rushed to the Community Health Centre in Jagdishpur, Azhar was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, Imtiaz is receiving medical attention.
Kamrauli Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities have commenced the necessary legal formalities and are actively seeking the truck driver who fled the scene. The damaged vehicles have been cleared, restoring normal traffic on the highway.
