The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hailed the Gauhati High Court's decision to reject Congress leader Pawan Khera's anticipatory bail application on Friday. This legal development concerns allegations involving forged documents connected to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla publicly criticized Khera, describing the court's order as a further blow to the Congress leader. Poonawalla's critique extended to Rahul Gandhi, calling for an apology from the Congress leader for supporting Khera.
The spokesperson further accused Khera of evading investigation and advised immediate cooperation with authorities. Pointing to Khera's alleged lack of relief from higher judicial bodies, he questioned his past actions, branding them as politically motivated with international influence.
