Security Tightens as Tamil Nadu Awaits Election Results

After the conclusion of polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election on April 23, officials from the election commission swiftly relocated sealed EVMs, VVPATs, and other essential polling materials to robustly guarded strong rooms at designated counting centers dispersed throughout the state.
Each of the 62 counting centers, which will facilitate the tallying of votes for all 234 Assembly constituencies on May 4, were fortified with substantial police and armed forces presence during the transportation process.
The designated counting locations are under stringent multi-layered police protection, being continuously monitored by the Central Armed Police Force, Tamil Nadu Special Police, and local police officers, ensuring the safety and integrity of the electoral materials, according to official reports.
