A record-breaking voter turnout of 85.14% was reported in Tamil Nadu, with Karur district leading at an impressive 92.62% as of 10:30 PM on Thursday. However, five districts fell below the 80% mark, demonstrating a disparity in voter engagement across the state.

Tirunelveli, Nilgiris, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, and Kanniyakumari were among the districts that couldn't reach 80%, with Kanniyakumari recording the lowest turnout at 75.61%. In contrast, all four constituencies in Karur exceeded 90%, highlighting the variation between districts.

In Chennai, the Perambur constituency saw the highest voter turnout at 89.73%, with notable contestations involving political figures like TVK chief Vijay and DMK President M K Stalin. Meanwhile, at the state level, former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami contested in Salem, where a significant 92.09% turnout was recorded.
