Polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election concluded on Thursday evening, leading to the secure transition of election materials to designated counting centres. Sealed EVMs, VVPATs, and other apparatus were transported under significant police and armed forces protection.
A total of 62 counting centres, guarded with multi-layered police security, will host the vote count for all 234 Assembly constituencies starting May 4. Law enforcement agencies have taken stringent measures to ensure the integrity and safety of the electoral equipment.
Central Armed Police Force, Tamil Nadu Special Police, and local police ensure round-the-clock security at strong rooms, according to an official. This multi-pronged security approach underscores the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the electoral process.
