In a significant boost for his party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the remarkable voter turnout in West Bengal's first phase of assembly elections as a clarion call for change. Speaking at a rally in Krishnanagar, Modi asserted that the substantial turnout foreshadows an overwhelming mandate against the ruling TMC.
Lauding the Election Commission for maintaining minimal violence, Modi highlighted the BJP's historical success linked to high voter participation. With reports of sporadic violence, Modi remained optimistic about BJP's victory and promised a celebration on May 4, featuring traditional street snacks like 'jhalmuri'.
Focusing on women's safety and empowerment, Modi criticized the TMC and unveiled 'Modi-ki-guarantees', a series of pledges aimed at boosting welfare for women and children in Bengal, including financial grants, educational support, and stricter safety measures.
