The DMK has rejected reports of an unusual increase in voting percentages in the ongoing elections, attributing the trends to accurate reflections of the electorate. The removal of dead and shifted voters from the rolls has led to more precise voter counts, according to DMK spokesperson Saravana Annadurai.
Annadurai cited historical data showing a consistent rise in the state's voting population, with votes polled increasing from 2.80 crore in 2001 to 4.58 crore in 2021. He expects the current cycle to reach around 5 crore votes, aligning with historical growth trends.
The spokesperson credited the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives and registry clean-ups for the high voter percentage. Confident in the voting patterns, the DMK is optimistic about forming the next government.
