In a move that has stirred political waters, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge received a notice from the Election Commission of India (ECI) following his controversial 'terrorist' remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Unfazed, Kharge assured reporters that his camp would respond promptly.
Harshwardhan Sapkal, the president of Maharashtra Congress, came to Kharge's defense while criticizing Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Sapkal accused Fadnavis of showing disrespect towards Kharge and questioned the BJP's supposed monopoly on wisdom and knowledge, describing Fadnavis's reaction as an affront to Maharashtra’s cultural ethos.
Meanwhile, Fadnavis demanded an apology from Kharge, attributing the remark to Congress's 'frustration following repeated losses'. Kharge, however, clarified his stance, asserting that he never meant to label Modi directly as a terrorist but emphasized the terrorizing effect of Modi's political strategies, including the use of agencies like ED, I-T, and CBI.
