Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Wednesday, spearheaded a vibrant road show in support of the BJP candidate from the Sonarpur Dakshin assembly constituency. The procession made its way through the main thoroughfares of the town, located on the southern outskirts of the city, amidst throngs of onlookers.
Shah was accompanied by BJP candidate Roopa Ganguly and other BJP leaders. They waved from atop a decorated truck, draped in saffron, as thousands of jubilant supporters lined the congested streets of South 24 Parganas district, holding giant party flags and chanting slogans.
During the event, Shah addressed reporters, criticizing TMC's Mamata Banerjee's governance, claiming her focus has shifted to familial succession. He assured that BJP has a roadmap for development in Kolkata and its surrounds, condemning the existing 'syndicate raj' and anticipated an exodus of TMC's affiliates post-elections.
