Allegations of Electoral Bias in West Bengal Elections

Former law minister Kapil Sibal has leveled serious accusations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging collusion with the BJP to manipulate the West Bengal elections in their favor.

Sibal, an Independent Rajya Sabha MP, condemned the massive security deployment for the elections, claiming it served to empower the BJP at the expense of democratic principles. He highlighted controversial disenfranchisement methods and insinuated unmatched electoral interference by the Election Commission and security forces.

Sibal further criticized remarks by BJP leaders during the election campaign and suggested the misuse of state machinery was unprecedented. Highlighting a reportedly contentious electoral environment, Sibal asserted that despite these challenges, Mamata Banerjee could see electoral success.
