BJP MP Sambit Patra drew parallels between the Congress party and the ancient Dhananand dynasty, accusing them of corruption and dynastic politics. Addressing reporters in Nalgonda, he referenced Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's recent parliamentary speech, alleging that the Congress's opposition to women's reservation echoes its historic resistance to progressive policies.
Patra contended that the Congress, along with other INDIA bloc parties, focuses on familial growth, neglecting broader societal advancements such as the women's quota. He criticized their demand for OBC sub-quotas as a diversion, claiming late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi initially opposed reservations for Backward Classes.
Emphasizing regional disparities, Patra accused Congress of attempting to deepen north-south divides, limiting Southern representation by stalling constitutional amendments. Additionally, he lambasted Telangana's Congress government for unfulfilled promises, stressing the party's tendency to prioritize family interests over national welfare.
