The Supreme Court is set to hear a contempt plea against businessman Satinder Singh Bhasin, accused of defying a court order to surrender in the Grand Venice Mall scam case. The apex court had revoked Bhasin's bail on April 2, citing his failure to meet the terms of the bail and settle investor claims.
Bhasin, the director of Bhasin Infotech and Infrastructure Private Limited, faces accusations from investors who allege being defrauded in upscale projects in Greater Noida. The petitioners claim Bhasin deliberately disregarded court directions and resorted to delaying tactics to evade surrendering to authorities.
The Supreme Court has previously refused Bhasin's plea for an extension of time to surrender, emphasizing the enforcement of its April 2 order. The allegations against Bhasin involve siphoning Rs 50 crore for his bail bond from company funds instead of personal resources, alongside numerous FIRs filed for alleged scam activities.
