Bengal Elections Heat Up: Adityanath and Thakur Rally Against TMC

As West Bengal voters prepare for the pivotal assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a rally in Purulia, castigated the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for allegedly stifling religious practices. He highlighted the need for a 'double-engine' governance to steer Bengal towards progress.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur echoed similar sentiments, expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) triumph in the upcoming polls. According to Thakur, the electorate seeks to liberate the state from corruption, nepotism, and the prevalent socio-political turmoil under Mamata Banerjee's regime.

The state will witness elections on April 23 and 29, with results declared on May 4. In the 2021 assembly elections, TMC clinched victory with 213 seats, while BJP positioned itself as the primary opposition with 77 seats. Stakes are high as key political figures rally support ahead of the elections.
