In a tragic turn of events in southern Lebanon, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the death of a French soldier, Staff Sergeant Florian Montorio, during an attack on UN peacekeepers. The assault also left three other soldiers injured.

Macron attributed the attack to Hezbollah, urging Lebanese authorities to swiftly apprehend those involved and collaborate with the UN mission, UNIFIL, to ensure justice.
