David Harbour, acclaimed for his performance in 'Stranger Things', has signed onto the cast of the new 'John Rambo' origin movie, acting alongside Noah Centineo. The film, bolstered by Lionsgate and Millennium Media, will be directed by Jalmari Helander, recognized for his work on the 'Sisu' film series.
This forthcoming installment serves as a prelude to the classic 1982 'First Blood' movie, and intends to delve into the early years of John Rambo, famously portrayed by Sylvester Stallone. Noah Centineo steps into the role of a young John Rambo, fighting as a soldier in the jungle, while Harbour takes on the character of Major Trautman—Rambo's mentor and commanding officer—originally played by Richard Crenna.
Shooting wrapped up in Thailand this March, with the screenplay crafted by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Producers include Kevin King Templeton for Templeton Media, Les Weldon and Jonathan Yunger for Millennium Media, and Angela Russo-Otstot and Michael Disco for AGBO. Executive producers feature Sylvester Stallone and the Russo brothers, alongside others.
