Tejaswi Surya's speech, which likened the formation of Telangana to the partition of India, sparked outrage. Congress leader Motha Rohit demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Surya, warning of widespread protests if demands are unmet.
