The Maharashtra Congress, led by Harshwardhan Sapkal, has criticized the BJP-led Mahayuti government for its neglect of mango and cashew farmers in the Konkan region. These farmers are reeling under the effects of climate change, suffering from a significant drop in production.

Sapkal has called for immediate financial assistance, highlighting that the farmers have been left without support while industries are being prioritized. In alliance with the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, the Congress has vowed to stand by the farmers' agitation, urging the state to provide meaningful aid.

As input costs soar and insurance compensation falls short, a meeting in Ratnagiri on April 18 may determine the escalation of protests if government action remains absent. Meanwhile, Sapkal has voiced opposition to the Shaktipeeth expressway, claiming it's designed to benefit select industrialists.
