The Congress party has initiated a committee to delve into the 'Vande Mataram' controversy following an incident involving two Indore councillors. The councillors, Fauzia Sheikh Aleem and Rubina Iqbal Khan, allegedly disrupted communal harmony by refusing to sing the national song at a municipal corporation event.
Amidst a brewing political storm, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) directed this two-member panel to submit a detailed report within a week, aiming for possible organizational action. The ruling BJP has amplified its criticism, accusing Congress of disrespecting national symbols and causing communal discord.
Congress argues the issue is being manipulated by BJP for political gain, diverting focus from significant local concerns like contaminated drinking water and corruption. The investigation will consider all perspectives, with findings anticipated to address these escalating tensions.
