In a decisive media interaction, Bharat Rashtra Samithi's (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao underscored the party's steadfast support for the Women's Reservation Bill while countering efforts to muddle its progress with delimitation and constitutional amendment debates.
KTR accused the Union Government of complicating the implementation process, calling for immediate application of women's reservations at both the national and state legislative levels without unnecessary linkage to seat expansion plans.
He condemned possible moves by Delhi that might underrepresent southern states in Parliament, recalling historic contributions and family planning efforts in the region, and warned of protests should these states face disadvantages.
