Tamil Nadu's political landscape is heating up as Chief Minister MK Stalin, joined by Makkal Needhi Maiam's Kamal Haasan and DMDK's Premalatha Vijayakanth, led a roadshow in Salem. This event was part of the intensifying campaign for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and attracted significant public and party worker participation.
In a parallel move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Nagercoil, accompanied by BJP's Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran and AIADMK's Edappadi K. Palaniswami. During the event, Modi paid homage to notable figures Dr BR Ambedkar and former AIADMK leader MG Ramachandran, reaffirming political commitments in the region.
The political climate in Tamil Nadu is poised for a fierce contest. While the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, which includes parties like Congress and DMDK, faces off against the AIADMK-led NDA, actor Vijay's electoral debut introduces a potential third front. Tamil Nadu will witness a single-phase poll on April 23, with results declared on May 4.
