The Trump administration has taken significant actions against Iranian nationals, revoking the US green cards and visas of at least four individuals connected to the Iranian government. Among these, two have been detained by immigration authorities and are awaiting deportation. These measures were recently enacted after Secretary of State Marco Rubio assessed their ineligibility to remain in the US.
This decision follows a previous move where visas of several diplomats and staffers at Iran's United Nations mission were rescinded. Among the affected individuals are the niece and grand-niece of the late Qassem Soleimani, former chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. They were arrested and are now in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Their relatives, who led a progressive lifestyle in Los Angeles while supporting the Iranian government, are seen as proponents of anti-American sentiments. In a statement, Rubio condemned the presence of nationals who support terrorist regimes, indicating a firm stance against such individuals.
