Asif asserted that Pakistan's reaction to any aggression would be 'swift, calibrated, and decisive,' a direct response to Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statement about taking 'unprecedented and decisive' actions against misadventures by India's neighbors.

This latest exchange of declarations between the two defense ministers occurs in the context of heightened tensions since the Pahalgam attack that sparked a four-day conflict between the countries last year.
