Crispin Chettri is set to make a comeback as the head coach of the Indian women's football team. The move comes after the Technical Committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) suggested his appointment following the end of Amelia Valverde's brief stint.
Chettri previously led the team's campaign for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup, but was made assistant coach when Valverde was appointed for the tournament. With India failing to advance past the group stage, the federation opted not to renew her contract.
Under Chettri's leadership, the women's team will participate in the FIFA Women's Series in Nairobi and the SAFF Women's Championships in Goa. Ranked 67th, India stands as the second strongest in the Nairobi tournament, promising an electrifying contest.
