Former CPI(M) leader G Sudhakaran, now contesting the Assembly elections as a UDF-backed Independent, has made serious allegations against Kerala's political landscape. He accused Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian of striking a deal with the BJP, potentially swaying the election outcome.
At an election rally, Sudhakaran dismissed any claims that his political career advanced due to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's influence, recounting that Vijayan was relatively unknown during the start of his political journey. Sudhakaran also rejected allegations of having neglected his brother G Bhuvaneswaran's legacy.
Sudhakaran placed further accusations against Cherian for facilitating BJP's rise in local politics, suggesting corruption and unethical practices. These claims, if substantiated, could significantly impact Cherian's candidacy in Chengannur.
