Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has declared total movable assets of Rs 48.40 lakh in his affidavit for the West Bengal Assembly polls. This marks an increase of Rs 9.05 lakh from his declaration in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
While Chowdhury's assets have increased, his wife Atasi's holdings have grown significantly, now standing at Rs 1.27 crore. Interestingly, Chowdhury owns no immovable property, though his wife has substantial holdings.
The Congress leader, who has no formal education beyond Class 9, has had a long and notable political career. He faces three pending criminal cases but continues to be a significant presence in Indian politics after losing the 2024 Lok Sabha race to Yusuf Pathan.
