Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a grand roadshow in Puducherry on Friday, rallying support for the AINRC-BJP alliance in the forthcoming April 9 Assembly elections. Accompanied by AINRC leader N Rangasamy and BJP's Home Minister A Namassivayam, Modi drew large crowds as his caravan covered a two-kilometer route in just under an hour.
The event was marked by fervent enthusiasm, with BJP supporters welcoming Modi with chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Shri Ram'. As Modi's campaign vehicle made its way between Ajanta and Kamarajar signals, supporters showered him with flowers, while party flags prominently decorated the streets, reflecting the alliance's presence.
Police ensured security while cultural and traditional dance performances enlivened the roadshow. Party leaders expressed optimism that Modi's visit would bolster the AINRC-BJP alliance's chances in the election, recalling Modi's recent approval of projects valued at over Rs 2,700 crore. The alliance is contesting 26 seats, including support from NDA allies AIADMK and Latchiya Jananayaga Katchi.
