Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday threw down the gauntlet to opposition parties, daring them to observe the effective application of Congress's six guarantees in his state. His challenge came as he unveiled the United Democratic Front (UDF) manifesto for the forthcoming Kerala Assembly elections.
Reddy took aim at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, branding them as 'Modi Brothers' and criticizing their administrations for corruption and incompetence. He proposed to personally showcase the implementation of the guarantees to Vijayan's administration if they visited Telangana.
Releasing the UDF manifesto, the Telangana CM proclaimed the end of Vijayan's 'dark era' and anticipated a 'Golden era' under the UDF. He criticized the alleged mismanagement of Sabarimala's resources and drew parallels between Vijayan's tenure and the decade-long rule of KCR in Telangana, marked by corruption and authoritarian governance. Reddy expressed confidence in the imminent ousting of Vijayan's government by the people of Kerala.
Reddy addressed corruption eradication, revenue retention, and fund utilization as top UDF election priorities. He emphasized the rightful claims of the funds provided by the central government as public entitlements, not mere generosity, and highlighted the coalition's integrity.
The UDF, he asserted, plans to mirror Telangana’s examples, describing initiatives including loan waivers, financial aid for farmers, job creation, and free bus travel for women. Predictions for a formidable economic future for Telangana, reaching a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047, underscore a trajectory of growth without tax hikes. The UDF manifesto echoed Telangana's success with welfare promises for Kerala’s citizens, calling for transformative projects in maritime, aviation, and education sectors.
