Bhaskar Bhattacharya, an independent director at the state-owned Power Finance Corporation, has stepped down from his position, letter sent on April 1, 2026.

Bhattacharya cited plans to participate in the West Bengal assembly polls as his reason for resignation. He aims to prevent any conflict of interest as he says his candidacy for the Serampore constituency has been selected.

Having started his tenure at PFC on May 13, 2025, Bhattacharya’s term was initially set for one year. His resignation has been officially noted in the company's regulatory filing.
