Honoring the Fallen: A New Chapter for a Hero's Family

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha presented a government job letter to Alka Sharma on Thursday. This gesture, under the J-K Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme 2022, was made during a solemn ceremony at Lok Bhavan.

Alka Sharma's husband, Sub-Inspector Deepak Sharma, was tragically killed in a gunfight with a notorious gangster in April 2024. The sacrifice made by Sharma in the line of duty was recognized by the presence of Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, at the event.

In addition to the appointment letter, Lt Governor Sinha assured the bereaved family of continued support. The ceremony not only honored the fallen officer but also sought to provide stability for his family as they cope with their loss.
