In a social media post, Gandhi described Team UDF as representatives of Kerala's aspirations, blending experienced leaders with young visionaries to address the unique needs of their constituencies. He reiterated his personal connection to Kerala, expressing gratitude for the state's nurturing environment.
Gandhi's comments follow the release of the Congress's candidate list for the April 9 assembly elections, where the party aims to unseat the current Left Democratic Front (LDF) by relying on state leadership rather than members of parliament. The Congress party is vying for 92 seats, leaving room for alliances within the UDF and independent candidates.
