On Wednesday, members of India's Rajya Sabha gathered to bid farewell to their retiring colleagues, emphasizing cross-party camaraderie and the enduring importance of dialogue and democratic values. Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien, speaking on behalf of party chief Mamata Banerjee, acknowledged the departure of MPs who were transitioning to 'new roles' in public life.
