UPPL's Strategic Assembly Poll Push for BTC Community Upliftment

As the Assam Assembly polls loom, United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) President Pramod Boro has reiterated the party's dedication to the comprehensive progress of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area's 26 communities. Boro will vie for a legislative seat in the 43 No. Tamulpur (ST) constituency.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Boro emphasized the UPPL’s focus on development and announced plans to field candidates in 15 seats, including his own. He highlighted the UPPL's pledge to foster socio-economic growth and safeguard rights within the BTC region, reflecting the aspirations of local populations.
The party, now part of the National Democratic Alliance, has unveiled its first candidate list for the Assembly elections scheduled for April 9. UPPL General Secretary Raju Kumar Narzary disclosed that prominent candidates include Aninda Basumatary for the 1 No. Gossaigaon seat and Lawrence Islary for the No. 3 Kokrajhar (ST) seat.
