The Odisha Assembly was thrown into chaos on Thursday as protests over cooking gas scarcity and alleged LPG cylinder black marketing led to repeated adjournments. Members from the BJD and Congress echoed concern over the increased LPG prices, taking their grievances to the Speaker's podium in an effort to demand a price rollback.

As slogans against alleged government inaction filled the House, Speaker Surama Padhy made multiple adjournments throughout the morning, finally pushing the session to reconvene at 4 pm. Leader of Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, was present as his party allies joined the Congress in pressing their demands against the ruling BJP.

BJP legislator Irasis Acharya and MLA Ashok Mohanty countered, arguing no real LPG shortage existed while questioning the opposition's motives, suggesting the disruptions were coordinated. Debate also extended to concerns for the safety of Odia people affected by Gulf region tensions.
