The Manipur Assembly on Monday paid tribute to 15 prominent leaders who passed away in 2025 and 2026, reflecting a moment of solidarity across political lines.

Among those remembered was former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, whose death was deemed a national loss according to Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh. The assembly also paid homage to sitting MLAs Vungzagin Valte, who died recently, and N Kayisii.

The session, which resumes this week, will address important legislative tasks, including the presentation of budget estimates and supplementary grants, before concluding on March 17.
