In Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh, authorities successfully intercepted 26 grams of heroin with a street value of Rs 1.37 lakh. During a strategic raid at Nongtow Khamti village, a police team led by Namsai SDPO Kengo Dirchi acted on reliable intel about illicit narcotic activities.
The operation, conducted on March 9 and overseen by Namsai SP Sange Thinley, culminated in the recovery of heroin from a sling bag possessed by the suspect. The entire search was carried out in the presence of independent witnesses and documented via the E-Sakshya app as per NDPS procedures.
A case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 (b) of the NDPS Act, 1985, with further investigations underway, police confirmed. This operation marks a critical step in addressing the region's narcotics challenge.
