On Thursday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra embarked on a significant two-day visit to Guwahati, aiming to fortify the party's strategy for the upcoming Assam elections. Her presence is crucial in finalizing the slate of candidates for the polls scheduled for March-April.
Greeted by state Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and senior party leaders, Vadra proceeded to the Kamakhya Temple to offer prayers. As the chairperson of the party's screening committee, her agenda includes pivotal meetings with the Political Affairs Committee and individual consultations with MLAs, district presidents, and MPs.
Vadra is also set to address the incumbent state's BJP government, unveiling a 'charge sheet' that outlines the Congress's critiques and alternatives. This visit marks a strategic effort in shaping Congress's electoral prospects in Assam.
