Jharkhand Gears Up: All-Party Meeting Sets the Stage for Budget Session

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato convened an all-party meeting on Tuesday, seeking cooperation from all MLAs for the upcoming Budget session, scheduled from February 18 to March 19. The state budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 is set to be tabled on February 24.
The meeting was attended by key political figures such as Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore. Discussions included advancing certain business from February 23 to February 21 to avoid conflict with civic polls, with decisions pending a Business Advisory Committee meeting.
Mahato also chaired a meeting with senior officers to ensure the session's seamless conduct, directing all officials to be fully prepared. Emphasizing the importance of MLA questioning, he urged officials to promptly address departmental queries. Attendees included Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and Home Department's Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel.
