Congress Claims Victory in Telangana Municipality Elections
The ruling Congress secured chairperson positions in seven of eight Telangana municipalities in recent elections, while the opposition BRS obtained one position. Elections were conducted in eight municipalities after initial postponements. The Congress also dominated mayoral elections, winning five out of seven municipal corporations.

The ruling Congress party clinched chairperson roles in seven out of the eight municipalities of Telangana in the recently held elections, underscoring their dominant political presence in the region once again.
The opposition party, BRS, managed to grasp only one chairperson post, highlighting the Congress's stronghold. Notably, the Congress party achieved victory in Thorrur and Jangaon municipalities through a draw of lots, as both parties showcased equal strength in these civic bodies.
Elections across 116 municipalities were held, but voting in several areas initially faced postponements due to disruptions. In the end, the Congress's success widened, achieving more than 1,300 out of the total 2,582 ward seats, setting a formidable lead over its rivals.
