In a fierce address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing criticism of the Congress party, accusing it of neglecting Assam and fueling insurgency in the Northeast. Speaking at a BJP rally, he alleged that Congress' tenure in Assam was marked by insecurity and divisive politics.
Modi claimed that Congress' decisions promoted polarization and vote bank politics, warning against a new threat characterized as 'MMC'—Maoist, Muslim, Congress. He accused the former ruling party of protecting infiltrators, asserting that BJP is devoted to ending illegal immigration.
The Prime Minister compared infrastructural achievements, stating that BJP government built five bridges over the Brahmaputra in a decade, compared to Congress' three over seven decades. He asserted that Assam's development is progressing rapidly under BJP, despite Congress' venomous rhetoric.
