West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dramatically exited a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging arrogance and humiliation by the poll panel. The TMC delegation, joined by victims from SIR-affected families, protested against perceived bias towards the BJP in West Bengal's electoral roll revision.
After leaving the meeting, Banerjee accused the Election Commission of acting as a BJP middleman and questioned its accountability, citing deaths connected to the revision process. She pledged to challenge the perceived injustices, emphasizing her party's reliance on people's power versus the Commission's influence.
Despite EC officials stating that TMC's concerns were heard, the exchange grew contentious with accusations of abusive language from TMC leaders. The Commission stressed maintaining law and order, urging timely payments to Booth Level Officers amidst TMC's claims of irregularities in the roll revision.
