Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, a former Rajasthan minister, has returned to the Congress party after a two-year stint with the BJP. His re-induction was greenlit by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, following a detailed review by the Rajasthan Congress and the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
The official letter confirming his return was issued late Friday. Malviya's formal rejoining is anticipated to occur at the state Congress office. The decision involved multiple stages, including a report by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Govind Singh Dotasra to the AICC in New Delhi.
Malviya signaled his intention to rejoin Congress, prompting raids by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau. His dissatisfaction with the BJP, citing issues with welfare schemes and agricultural support, was known. However, Dotasra criticized the misuse of agencies for alleged political vendetta.
