In a strong statement during the Jammu and Kashmir UT Foundation Day events, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated that the region's lack of statehood should not be used to justify any governmental inefficiencies.

Sinha highlighted that the existing powers held by the elected government are sufficient for governance. His comments come after Union home minister Amit Shah assured Parliament of a phased plan involving delimitation, assembly elections, and eventual statehood restoration.

The Lieutenant Governor urged for efficiency, stressing that citizens should not be misled by the absence of statehood as a barrier to effective administration, encouraging the government to utilize its current authority for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir's populace.
