Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has opted for a cautious approach in his response to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's remarks on the issue of statehood. Abdullah, speaking at a recent event, expressed the importance of reviewing Sinha's words personally before issuing any public statement.
At a gathering in SKICC, Sinha stated that the absence of statehood should not be seen as a reason for any alleged 'under performance' by the elected government. Given Abdullah's restrained stance, he's clearly aiming to avoid unnecessary public dispute until he verifies the content of Sinha's remarks.
Meanwhile, Abdullah was in attendance at the Kashmir Marathon Expo's inaugural ceremony, taking the opportunity to highlight how such events can amplify the region's tourist appeal. The expo aimed to present Jammu and Kashmir's unique handicrafts and draw attention to its tourism offerings, bolstering visitor interest in the area.
